Today marks the Liposuction Fort Worth Guide’s last discussion on the risks and complications of liposuction; checking for complications.

While there are potential complications with every surgery, liposuction complications are uncommon and preventable with the right pre and postop instructions. However, should complications arise the following are the most common and can occur alone or in conjunction with each other: 1.Swelling of the area can occur but is preventable with the wearing of tight garments in the particular area which helps to squeeze out any excess edema. 2. Loss of feeling in the skin. This lack of sensation usually disappears within a few days and in some extreme cases a few months. 3.Bruising around the area is common and to be expected as the procedure is tramatic to the body. This usually goes away within a few weeks. 4. Infection is the worst and most serious of the complications and must be addressed with proper antibiotics right away. 5. Lumpy or bumpy skin can result from fat that has not been properly removed. Proper tight garments can help lessen this complication as well. If it doesn’t completely help, then further liposuction maybe needed. The use of lidocaine, a common analgesic medication used in the liposuction suregery, can cause it’s own complications; one of which is harm to the liver. Other rare complications are the formation of blood clots, perforation of the bowel and abdominal area, and shock. Shock can result because of the trauma the body goes through after too much fat is removed; which is why it is so important to limit the amount of fat removed at each procedure. According to the Liposuction Fort Worth Guide, if a large amount of fat is going to be removed then it should be done in multiple procedures. Liposuction is on the low end of risk on the surgical ladder, but none the less there are complications. These risks can be minimized with the proper precautions on the patient’s part as well as the surgeon’s part.

The Liposuction Fort Worth Guide discusses the some of the common complications associated with liposuction.

While liposuction has the least complications when compare to cosmetic surgeries, there are, as with all medical procedures, risks. These complications from liposuction are easy to identify and see. So, becoming familiar with these medical risks is worthwhile and important. To begin, the site of the liposuction may become swollen due to the body’s normal response to any procedure or what is perceived as an injury to the skin and body: healing body fluids and more blood rushes to the site to initiate the healing process. At the same time, to help with this process and prevent too much accumulation of fluids that would be beyond what is necessary and cause discomfort, liposuction wraps and garments are used to help drain excess fluids and also apply a slight pressure to the area while allowing the natural healing process to continue. Likewise, infection may set in. In this case, the liposuction site needs to be checked frequently and all made aware of the importance to get the infection under control as soon as possible. The Liposuction Fort Worth Guide considers this a priority when considering complications that might arise from liposuction and how to take care of them. Obviously, the skin in the area that has had a liposuction treatment looses its feeling , but often returns to normal within several months. Bruising of the skin will occur in almost all cases. This is of course temporary and may be helped by wearing liposuction garments as well. Some complications may arise from the fat that is lodged between the tissues causing the skins to be a bit lumpy or some of the fatty tissue is still present. In this unlikely case the procedure would need to be repeated. Along with the above complications or expectations during the initial period after liposuction procedures are performed, there are a few very rare complications that need to be addressed as well. Blood clots, the accumulation of excess blood and formation of clots in the area where the liposuction has been performed. This is caused by the cannula, the tool used by the physician, is inserted for too long; maybe due to the excess amounts of fat being removed, or in a troublesome area such as the abdominal and bowel areas. Check your physician’s history and experience, even call a few patients who have had similar procedures to the one you are considering. It will put your mind at ease as well as provide you with additional information and what to expect. Also, it may provide you with information to let you know that you need to continue interviewing other physicians who perform liposuction treatments. Another complication of importance is shock. This results from too much fat being removed in one session. When the fat tissue being removed is excessive, much better to go in for several treatments. Also, ask your physician about this before hand, what do they think about this, how long is an average session, how long are your sessions expected to be? Lastly, lidocaine which is used as an anesthesia may cause complications associated with the liver, usually among people who consume alcohol.

Welcome to the Liposuction Fort Worth Guide. On this website we will discuss topics relevant to weight loss surgery with a focus on liposuction. We will also discuss the liposuction surgeons in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Let’s talk about cosmetic surgery.

Cosmetic surgery was once for the rich and/or famous, something done in secrecy, but not longer. Cosmetic surgery is on the rise. We all hope for something that solves our problem faster, which today’s technologies allow for, and with less complications and down time, which the elements are also taken care of which adds to the rising frequency of elected cosmetic surgery procedures. According to the (BAAPS), the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the use of liposuctiton in the U.K. increased by 90 percent in 2006, rising by 31 percent to almost 29,000. The yearly market for cosmetic surgery in the U.S. is estimated at $15 billion. Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure that has less prep time, less recovery time, and fewer complications than other choices. Liposuction is a procedure which actually sucks fat out of the area of the body desired by the patient, such as the thighs or abdomen. The basic concept is to resculpt the body. The less invasive procedure makes people feel more comfortable about getting a cosmetic procedure. Also, it is becoming more accepted. Even so, there are some risks, as with any procedure. Roughly 7 out of 1,000 liposuction operations have complications. But, only 20% of those are considered major.

The Liposuction Fort Worth Guide has found various provisos about engaging in liposuction, however. Douglas McGeorge, president of BAAPS stresses that liposuction is not a cure for obesity and that the best results are with those who are basically happy with their body, but want it resculpted and reshaped or defined with some reduction and not for those who are 50 pounds overweight and wanting liposuction to solve their problems, with the thought of using liposuction as a quick fix without regard to changes in eating habits, which obviously need attention. For those individuals, help and understanding may be found in “Natural Appetite Suppressants for Safe, Effective Weigh Loss” by coauthor Mike Adams. There, Mr. Adams also validates McGeorge’s belief that “Liposuction is no solution for excess body fat.” Mr. Adams explains 46 safe and natural appetite suppressants to control cravings that put a halt to the cycle of cravings and weight gain. Yet, for those not struggling with excessive overweight problems and the need to address these such issues that cause obesity, such as described by Mike Adams, liposuction provides a safe and reliable method of reshaping and resculpting to rid the body of fat in certain areas with little risk of any severe complications.
